The Race Experience at A'DAM VR is a real F1 simulator in the heart of Amsterdam. You take a seat in a full racing seat, take the wheel and put your feet on the pedals. Racing here happens on screens, without a VR headset: you keep sight of your hands, your mirrors and the racers beside you. This is sim racing the way drivers train, except you don't need a single lap of experience behind a racing simulator.

Sim racing is a different thing from playing a racing game on the couch. The simulator sends your steering, braking and throttle straight to the car, and the wheel feeds back what the car is doing underneath you. That's why our Formula 1 simulator feels so real: you're not steering with a controller, you're driving. There are several circuits too, from an easy track for your first go to ones that really make you think.

Up to 14 racers drive in the same race at once, live against each other. The leaderboard tracks who's ahead every lap, so the tension lasts until the final corner. You don't need a licence and you don't need any sim racing experience, anyone from age 8 can join. The crew explains the controls in a minute and then you're off.

It's a proper outing on its own, but with a group it really comes alive: a corporate outing with an actual championship, a bachelor party where the losers buy the round, or just an afternoon of racing with friends. The racing simulator is in Level 1, 2 and 4, or book a single session from €15.
